GHO: Philippines

March 2025

Our team saw over 2,500 patients in the weeks that we were in Maasin City on Leyte island in The Philippines! We provided 1,000 people with eyeglasses, saw 319 dental patients for tooth extractions, saw 1,203 medical patients, and gave out 850 pairs of new sandals (that came with a foot washing/prayer time).

Best news of all, we had 929 salvations!

While there are probably hundreds of stories I could tell about what God did this past March, and you can read many of them in the blogs linked below, I want to share one particularly impactful one.

A man in his mid-thirties came in on crutches. He had been in an explosion several years back that rendered his leg scarred and unable to bear any weight. Recently, however, an infection had started in his leg, which is why he came to see us at the free clinic. And praise the Lord he did! His infection was becoming septic (a toxic response to an infection) and the doctors agreed that he would have been dead in 24 hours if nothing had been done.

Our team sponsored an ambulance ride and hospital stay and he immediately began receiving IV antibiotics. The doctors also discovered that the accident had shatters fragments of his femur and those little bone pieces had been poking and cutting his muscles for years, which probably started the infection. Our team is also sponsoring his reconstructive surgery when it comes time to do that. But this man's story doesn't end with his physical life being saved!

Because of what happened at clinic, the man decided he wanted to come to church the following Sunday and see what all the Jesus fuss was about. He brought his whole family, and they all accepted Christ as their Savior!!!

God orchestrated this man's story so beautifully, and I am so grateful to have witnessed it. I look forward to seeing him again someday :)

You can check out more stories below or scroll through a few photos from the trip.
