The Lord who Controls The Wind Knows Me By Name

If you have had the misfortune of talking to me over the last two weeks, you know I and my team were incredibly stressed about a notice we were all getting on our tickets:

Restricted from traveling to or transiting through your destination

Every agent we talked to said it was a known glitch and that it will all be resolved upon arrival to the airport. Still, there was a bigger than I’d like to admit part of me that was convinced that we would be turned away at the border!

In one of my panic moments, my dad sat me down and reminded me that the God who controls the wind and the waves has this trip all planned out. Why fear the unknown when you know the One who knows everything?

So the trip started as every trip should — with lots of prayer and petitioning.

And wouldn’t you know it, God knew what He was doing when He put this team together! We made it through passport control with no issues! Praise God!

We had a major hiccup during customs — two of our teammates were stuck in interrogation for probably close to four hours!! The conclusion was we were not allowed to bring in some dental equipment and vitamins. While frustrating, we are glad that they let the actual dentists through. We will figure out how to work with less tools…

Then we spent two hours in a van through steep, twisty mountains and only had one motion sickness incident ;)

I always love looking out the window as we travel through the countryside. The views were kind of like you would expect for the Middle East, smoggy, lots of mosques, dilapidated buildings, but also a huge forest and mountains which was surprising!

We met up with our local partners at the airport and got to have dinner with them before heading to bed. We’re all exhausted, both from travel and also from the stress of confiscated goods and detainees.

Please be praying for our team tonight that they get some good restorative rest and that we can start the day strong tomorrow.
